Again, I was inspired by my surroundings. We often vacation in Florida and the islands and I fell in love with the colors and the heavy, humid scent of tropical flowers and thoughts of pirates and ships. As a teenager, I used to read (and still do) books about the Caribbean, pirates and treasure hunts. I fell in love with pirate movies and underwater diving and anything having to do with the tropics.
